Cobras at GameStorm

In two short weeks, GameStorm 9 will kick off in Portland, OR, and Secret Doors Game Studio will be there! Keymaster Sean Prescott and I will be running demos of Cobras in the Cockpit all weekend long. Fun for us, and fun for you!

Cobras in an RPGnet review

Cobras in the Cockpit was reviewed at RPGnet. I have yet to read a bad review of my game, but I think this one is especially thorough and insightful. Check it out!

Cobras at Orycon!

Cobras in the Cockpit will be at Orycon 28 in November! Oregon's premier science fiction convention has a strong gaming program, thanks to the great folks who bring us GameStorm every spring, and I'm pleased to send a delegation.

Demo artist Sean Prescott has been part of Cobras in the Cockpit from the beginning, and will welcome new players to the game with his warm, friendly humor and deep love for games. If you're anywhere near Portland during the weekend of November 17-19, head to Orycon and hook up with Sean for an official Cobras in the Cockpit demo.

UPDATE: Sean reports that the demos were great! I'm going to try to talk him into an official con report.

Cobras in the Cockpit pre-orders shipped

All of the pre-orders of Cobras in the Cockpit are now out the door. The domestic pre-orders went out on Wednesday, and I shipped all of the overseas pre-orders today. This means that (a) I'm a lot less busy, and (b) all new orders will be shipped right away. Sweet!

Cobras in the Secret Identity Podcast

Cobras in the Cockpit was introduced in the August 9th episode of the Secret Identity Podcast (link goes to MP3 of the show; they talk about the game at about 17:20 into it).

I really enjoyed the whole episode, not just the spiel on Cobras in that episode, so I was delighted when they asked for an interview. Look forward to hearing Trent and I on Wednesday, August 30th. And, if you like comics and games and all sorts of geek culture stuff, subscribe to the Secret Identity Podcast on iTunes, or download shows from their website.

Cobras in the Cockpit ship date set (almost), website updates

The last components (the cards, if you're curious) of the Cobras in the Cockpit board game are scheduled to be finished by the printer on August 31st.

It's possible, maybe even probable, that they'll be done before that, but that's the date they're giving me. If they're done early (or, knock on wood, late) I'll post the news to the mailing list and the web site. There will be a couple of days of transit after the printing is finished, and then I'll be ready to ship the pre-ordered games.

There's still time to pre-order!

In other Cobras in the Cockpit news, we've added additional content to the web site. There's a contact page where you can send a note directly to me, and we've expanded the FAQ page since I've received more Q's. There are also some action shots on the front page so you can see the game (a prototype version, anyway) in its natural habitat. Keen!
